BenQ W1070 3D Projector Review

The BenQ DLP HD 1080p Projector (W1070) is a 3D home theater projector that features lens shift technology and utilizes the RGBRGB color wheel. It employs high resolution that’s perfect for home cinemas on a budget. At less than $700, this projector is packed with features despite the relatively cheap price compared to its counterparts. As it is made by BenQ, the leading DLP projector brand worldwide, you know you’re getting high quality that isn’t compromised by the smaller price tag, and even comes with 1 year warranty for parts and labor.

Picture Quality

This unit has full HD content with 1080p definition, ANSI brightness of 2,000 lumens, and 13,000: 1 contrast. With a diagonal screen size range of 60” to 180” and 1.3x zoom, this projector also has vertical lens shift which makes it perfect for video games, Blu-ray, and HD broadcasts too. It’s also ISF Certified for customization to any room – you can calibrate regardless of night or day modes as it can adapt to any room’s configurations optimizing color performance no matter what kind of room you are in. it also supports multiple types of 3D, be it HDMI, 3D broadcasting, Blu-ray, and video games. It has NVIDIA 3DTV PC connectivity as well, assuring you great image quality so you can enjoy your preferred form of entertainment without any worries.

Design

The sleek metallic exterior of the W1070 makes it easy on the eyes. It includes SmartEco technology, with auto standby mode to save energy and prolong lamp life. Lamp lasts up to 6,000 hours, making it one energy-efficient and cost-effective system. The only thing that may be bothersome for tech fans is that it seems to have light escaping through the grilles and even the side of the lens, so the 2,000 lumens might not fully be utilized. In addition, the remote control does not have a backlight, so it may be a challenge to manipulate anything while using the projector in typical home cinema darkness.
