ViewSonic PJD5155 3D Projector Review

The ViewSonic PJD5155 3300 Lumens SVGA HDMI Projector is a budget-friendly home theater projector that retails for around $500 or even less. Moderately priced, this unit boasts of good brightness levels and the most basic features you’ll need for your home’s entertainment purposes. Truly, it has a mostly impressive performance for its price range, and is great for those who are itching to have the theater experience in the comfort of their own home.

Picture Quality

Its native resolution is only 800 x 600 (4:3 aspect ratio – SVGA). In other words, this unit isn’t exactly high definition. It has only 20,000:1 contrast, which is pretty good considering the price of the package. You also have a choice of 5 unique view settings, which all match your preferred viewing environment. However, some tests would show that the colors may be a little off (sometimes colors seem dull or even slightly incorrect). While this isn’t a major issue, it can be apparent to those who have a sharp eye for such details. If you’re not much of a stickler when it comes to true colors, it should be fine. While its image and audio aren’t exactly standouts, you are getting pretty good value for your money for an SVGA projector that does its job well. It’s probably worth considering too for businesses and schools that need projectors which won’t break the budget.

Design

This projector measures 4.6 by 12.4 by 9 inches and weighs 4.6 pounds, which makes it portable. It does, however, lack a carrying case. The sleek black casing with tapered sides is unobtrusive, and will blend in easily with most electronic gadgets that compose your home entertainment set.
